49ers have strong showing at Flotrack Husky Classic

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Long Beach State track and field team had a strong showing at the Flotrack Husky Classic this weekend as the distance runners notched nine 49er all-time top 10 marks.

On Friday evening, Nina Moore posted LBSU's second-fastest indoor 5000-meter time, crossing the finish line in 17 minutes, 22.36 seconds. In the men's 5000m, Bret Hasvold was the 49ers' top finisher with a mark of 14:53.11 to rank third in school history. Steven DeCastro wasn't far behind at 15:08.41, putting him sixth on the all-time charts.

In today's action, Rosa Del Toro led a trio of 49er women in the 3000m run as she registered a time of 9:47.79. That ranks her third in school history. Jennifer Rodriguez (9:49.06) and Alisia Barajas (10:04.21) also moved into fourth and ninth on the all-time charts, respectively.

Moore clocked in with the 10th-best mile mark in 49er history (5:10.40). Kylee Martin also ranked 10th in the 800m as she finished in 2:23.41.

Long Beach State returns to action in two weeks when it makes its way back to Seattle, Wash., for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championships (Feb. 25-26).
