Bill Poutre resigns as head men's golf coach

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State men's golf coach Bill Poutre has announced his resignation after guiding the 49ers the past two seasons.
"We appreciate Bill's effort to enhance our men's golf program during his time here," LBSU athletic director Vic Cegles said. "We wish him well in his future pursuits."
Poutre is leaving The Beach to pursue other professional opportunities, allowing him to spend more time with his family.
"I am proud of the program's accomplishments during my two years," Poutre said. "I truly believe the team is positioned for continued growth and success."
A national search for a replacement will begin immediately.
