Canetti Named Water Polo Athlete of the Week

Long Beach, Calif. - Junior Cecilia Canetti was named the Big West Women's Water Polo Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office today.

Canetti, a junior center from Rio De Janeiro Brazil, helped lead Long Beach State to two wins last week. Against Pacific, Canetti scored three goals on the way to an 11-4 win. She also helped the 49ers pick up a victory against a ranked Cal State Bakersfield squad to close out the week.

Long Beach State returns to action this Saturday, hosting its second straight home match. The 49ers will take on No. 1 Stanford, Saturday, March 28 at Noon in the Campus Pool.
