Welcome Back!
Long Beach State makes a return to the campus pool after an absence of over a month, as Long Beach State takes on Princeton at home. The 49ers have been on the road since February 5 when the team lost to No. 3 UCLA. That span covered 15 games away from Long Beach.
What You Might Have Missed
Sophomore Lauren Sieprath leads the 49ers in scoring, leading the team with 20 goals in 16 games. Cecliia Canetti and Krizia Cerda are also averaging more than a goal per game for Long Beach State. In goal, the 49ers are led by Kristen Stragier who has made 120 saves on the year. The 49ers made a road trip to San Diego for two games and also played in two tournaments, one at UC Irvine and a second at UC Santa Barbara.
Opening Up
In the season opener, Long Beach State welcomed No. 3 UCLA to the Campus Pool on a chilly night with rain, but were unable to keep pace with the Bruins in a 13-4 loss. Kristin Stragier made a number of strong saves in the contest, and the 49ers featured balanced scoring in the loss, but four goals from center Tanya Gandy allowed UCLA to come away with the win.
