Duo Named Academic All-District

LONG BEACH--Long Beach State tennis players Stephanie Bengson (Albion Park, Australia) and Hannah Grady (Coventry, England) were each named Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for their accomplishments on the court and in the classroom.
Bengson was named to the first team for the second straight year, and is again eligible for Academic All-America honors, while Grady was named to the second team.
Bengson, a senior and the school's all-time win leader, carries a 3.96 GPA as a psychology major, while Grady, the three-time Big West Player of the Year, has a 3.89 GPA as a political science major. Bengson is also a three-time first team All-Big West singles player and with Grady, were named first team All-Big West in doubles, ranking in the top-75 nationally for most of the season in doubles competion.
There are eight district teams, made up of 10 athletes on each of the first teams, from sports such as: women's bowling, ice hockey, crew, lacrosse, rifle, skiiing, swimming, tennis and water polo.
