FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Complete Results

Brent Gray finished with a provisional NCAA qualification in the 200-meter dash to highlight a second week in Flagstaff in a five-way dual meet on Saturday. The 49ers had nine overall event winners, and had a number of strong marks.

Brent Gray's 21.16 time in the 200-meter dash gave him a win in that event and also likely earned the senior another trip to the NCAA Indoor National Championships. His time in that event is the sixth best in the nation from results starting at the beginning of the week. Gray was a double-winner on the day, also taking the gold in the 400, just nipping Kelsey Caesar who had a lifetime best in the 400 at 48.09, just behind Gray's 48.04.

Gray and Caesar also entered the Long Beach State top 10 in the 400 at 5th and 6th place respectively with those times. The men's 4x400m relay team also grabbed a win, as Caesar, Gray, Goldberg and David Holley combined for a 3:17.23 to beat Southern Utah's squad by two seconds and enter the Long Beach State top ten in sixth place.

For the hurdlers, the 49ers got another solid day from Chistopher Lawson and Nimrod Piggee, as the pair took second and third in the 60m hurdles with top 10 indoor times at 8.32 and 8.41 respectively. Piggee also earned a podium spot in the long jump, finishing in second place behind Chris Richardson's 7.05m winning mark.

In the other field events, Demontray Hankins won the men's high jump with a lifetime best leap of 1.98m, and Robert Jennings grabbed a win in the weight throw with a mark of 18.70m.

For the women, Patrice White led the way in the short sprints. The junior took second place in the 60m dash, tying her mark from last week at 7.76 seconds, and finished in third place in the 200 with a season-best of 25.43. In the short hurdles, Erricka Feazell just missed topping her school record from last week, finishing in second place with a time of 8.74 seconds.

In the high jump, the 49er women claimed a winner with Taylor O'Connor, who cleared 1.67m to take the high jump title by two inches. The 49ers also had an impressive performance in the long jump, sweeping the podium. Phylicia Johnson improved on her best to win the event with a jump of 5.49m, earning 7th place in the school's top 10. Allison Sarell and Miia Mobley also took second and third, as Sarell crushed her previous best by nearly two feet. Mobley also set a PR on the way to a second-place finish in the triple jump, earning fourth on the school's top ten list.

Jill Reynolds toyed with NCAA qualifying in the pole vault, clearing 12 feet at 12-1.50, but ended up finishing second due to an earlier miss. Also out in the field, Jennifer Onyeagbako finished the day with a school record in the weight throw. Her throw of 58 feet and a half-inch beat the previous record held by Stephanie Sampson by almost three feet, and improved on Onyeagbako's personal best by even a little bit more.

Long Beach State begins outdoor season next week, heading to the Riverside CC Invitational before returning to indoor action at the MPSF Championships in Seattle from February 29 to March 1.
