Roe Accepts Job At Butler
Leaves Cross Country Program In Great Shape

LONG BEACH, CA -- Matt Roe, who served as Distance Coach/Assistant Track Coach at Long Beach State for the past three years has been named Men's and Women's Track/Cross Country Coach at Butler University. Roe will begin his duties with the Bulldogs on August 6.
"I have greatly enjoyed the three years I have spent coaching the
49er distance teams," said Roe. "More than anything, I will
miss the student-athletes I have coached. I look forward to watching the
distance program continue to reach new heights."
"We're excited to have Matt joining our coaching staff," said
Butler Director of Athletics Barry Collier. "He has a proven record
of success, and we look forward to a continued high level of achievement
by our track and cross country athletes."
"I am very happy for Matt," said 49er Head Coach Andy Sythe.
"We saw tremendous growth in the distance program and he will do
a marvelous job at Butler."
