Blalock Earns Weekly Award
Senior Finished Fourth Overall at the Titan Invite

IRVINE, CA-- Long Beach State distance runner Nicole Blalock (Orange) became the second 49er this season to be named Big West Conference athlete of the week following her performance at the Titan Invitational where she finished with a time of 18:21 to top all collegiate runners. Blalock finished fourth overall, only behind three Cal Coast Track athletes.

Blalock, a senior, currently holds top-10 times in both distances as she ranks second on the charts in the 6K with a time of 21:30.4, and holds the eighth fastest time in school-history for the 5K at 18:01.6.

Blalock was named All-Big West in 2003 and 2005 where she finished seventh and eighth at the conference championships, respectively. The 49ers will be at San Luis Obispo this weekend for the Big West Championships at Fairbanks Cross Country Course.
