Azevedo Named First Team All-MPSF

Azevedo Named First Team All-MPSF WOODLAND, CA-- Long Beach State junior attacker Cassie Azevedo (Long Beach/Wilson HS) was named first team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation for the second straight year after leading the 49ers with 64 goals. Azevedo, who was named a third team All-American last year, ranks fifth all-time in career goals at The Beach with 150. Her 64 goals this past season finished fourth-best in a single-season. Azevedo shot 37 percent on the season with a team-best 41 steals and 29 assists. Azevedo was a three-time MPSF Player of the Week this year. The 49ers finished the year sixth at the MPSF Championships last weekend, with the third-most wins in school-history at 21-9. The 8-4 mark in conference play also tied a 49er-best for most wins. |
