Freshman Debuts with Seven Saves; Richardson Scores Three LONG BEACH, CA- Goalie Bri Hawkins, making her first start of the season, and junior Ashley Richardson combined for the No. 8-ranked 49ers (6-6, 1-1 MPSF) to defeat No. 10-ranked UC Santa Barbara (12-10, 1-3 MPSF) 9-6 at the campus pool on Friday afternoon. Hawkins recorded seven saves on the afternoon, while Richardson found the back of the net three times, including the game-winner in the third period in leading The Beach to the victory. Richardson broke a 5-5 tie with 6:09 left in the third with a breakaway goal to give LBSU a 6-5 lead. Drue Wawrzynski and Angelica Garcia added two goals a piece for the 49ers. Teres Gorbett scored three times in the first half, helping the Gauchos to tie the game at 5-5 at the half. Yvonne Conrad had 10 saves for UCSB.
