Garcia Scores Nine Goals for the Tournament SANTA BARBARA, CA-- The No. 7-ranked Long Beach State 49ers (4-5) finished seventh at the UC Santa Barbara Invitational, losing to San Jose Sate 7-6 before taking care of San Diego State 6-3. For the tournament, sophomore Angelica Garcia scored nine goals, while freshman Roberta Stewart added seven. In the 49ers first match, the game was tied 4-4 heading into the final frame. The Spartans outscored LBSU 3-1 in the final period to win. Garcia led The Beach with four goals. In the seventh place game, later that day, LBSU took a 3-1 lead at the half and cruised to the three-goal victory. Garcia, Stewart and Ashley Richardson each had two goals a piece.
