Beach to Host LBSU Invite, Saturday
250 Athletes, Representing 16 Programs Set to Compete

LONG BEACH, CA--The 49er cross country team will host the Long Beach Invite this Saturday at the El Dorado Park (East). The women's 5K will begin at 9:00 am, with the men's 8K following at 9:30 am. Awards will be given to the top-ten individual finishers, as well as to the coach of the winning team. An open 4K race will begin at 10:15 am. Nine schools and seven club teams will represent close to 250 athletes.
For the first time this season, the men's team will be running with a full team. "We are excited to see how we will stack up with conference foe UC Riverside," Distance Coach Geoff Masanet said. "We will be running at full strength and are looking to win."
Terrance Wroblewski (Half Moon Bay, CA) will add depth to the group of runners this weekend after missing most the season with an injury. Arturo Garcia (Chino Hills, CA) will sit out this meet as he is still recovering from a foot injury.
On the women's side, Masanet hopes to see times drop and the women to come out of the race with personal bests.
