Summer League/MLB: Played for the Peninsula Pilots with teammate Bobby Pearce in the Coastal Plains League in the Summer of 2003... compiled a 1.93 ERA over 10 appearances and six starts, tossing 37.1 innings, giving up 34 hits... struck out 29 and walked eight, going 4-2 with one save.

2003 (Freshman): Appeared in five games with a 4.50 ERA over 4.0 innings... gave up just two runs on five hits as opponents batted .294 against him... pitched 1.2 shutout innings against Loyola Marymount on April 1 in his final appearance of the year... pitched a scoreless inning of relief against LSU on February 28... gave up his only two runs at USC on February 9 over 0.2 innings.

High School: Lettered two years in baseball and one in football at Palm Desert HS... earned All-Desert Valley League honors at two positions as a prep, as a shortstop during his junior season and as a pitcher his senior year... batted .450 with 23 steals in 2002, after batting .470 with three homers and 21 steals as a junior... tossed 55 innings his senior year, compiling a 3.00 ERA... honor roll student... member of the Boys State National Legion.
