2006 (Junior): Selected by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays with the third overall pick in the first round of the 2006 MLB Draft ... Earned second team Baseball America All-American, National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association third-team All-American, and third-team Collegiate Baseball All-American ... Named as a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award ... Chosen as the co-Big West Player of the Year after hitting .353 with 11 home runs and 43 RBI ... Led the conference in slugging (.603) and on-base percentage (.468) ... Pre Season: Rated as the 10th-best prospect by Baseball America for the 2006 amateur draft... named to the initial Wallace National Award Watch List, the third-straight year LBSU has had a 49er as a candidate for national player of the year.

Summer League: Named the Cape Cod League’s Most Valuable Player after leading the league in homers (8) and RBI (35), while batting .299 over 164 at-bats... Baseball America named him a first team summer All-American... named an East All-Star along with Dirtbag and Chatham teammate Jared Hughes, starting at second base... twice named a Cape Cod Player of the Week.... also led the league in slugging (.500), extra base hits (16) and ranked third in hits (49) and in the top-15 in batting... scored 25 runs and had seven doubles, and one triple... saw his average raise as high as .343 in mid July, before setting at .299... Chatham fell just short of the championship game, falling in three games in the semifinals... spent his time at three different infield positions, starting primarily at second base, but also playing short and third.

2005 (Sophomore): Named second team All-Big West after finishing second on the team with a .320 average, while leading the teams in runs (34) and RBI (30)... named the Sirius National Player of the Game after three RBI and a defensive gem on May 21 at Cal State Fullerton... in that game he had the game-winning single in the sixth and a two-run single in the eighth... had eight doubles and ranked second behind first round pick Troy Tulowitzki (8) in homers with five... had a team-best 19 multi-hit games... produced a .421 slugging percentage and had a .368 on-base percentage... also led the team with 10 steals... had a .952 fielding percentage off of a team-best 58 games and 56 starts, starting 18 times at short for an injured Tulowitzki to begin the year and 34 times at third base... made four starts at designated hitter... ranked 19th in the Big West in batting, 10th in hits (73) and 11th in steals... had a season-best five hits, going 5-for-5 with three runs, four singles, a double and a walk against LMU on March 8... then went 4-for-5 with two RBI at LMU on April 19 in the re-match... stole two bases and went 3-for-4 with three runs against UC Davis on May 1... went 4-for-5 with two runs and a double at Baylor on March 5... had hit streaks of seven games, in early March, and in mid-April... the latter streak watched his average raise 30 points as he went 15-for-30... also went 11-for-18 in a week in March against LMU and Houston... ended the season hitting safely in 19 of his final 22 games... had solo home runs against UC Riverside on April 1, Cal Poly on May 15, at Pacific on April 22 and Cal State Northridge on April 15... hit a two-run homer against UC Davis on April 30.

Prior to LBSU: Batted.430 as a freshman to earn All-Foothill and first team All-State honors at Rio Hondo College ... Drove in 64 runs with nine doubles, three triples and eight homers… had a .683 on-base percentage and a .479 on-base percentage… also scored 36 runs… ranked 14th in the state in average and among the state’s leaders in runs… ranked second in the Foothill Conference in batting and led the league in RBI and runs.

High School: Played four years of varsity ball for the Braves… batted .400 with six homers as a senior and .333 with three homers as a junior… named first team All-Serra League as a senior.

Personal: Son of Michael and Mary Longoria… majoring in criminology.
