High School: Named the Nevada State Player of the Year by the Las Vegas Review Journal in 2014 ... also named to the All-League first team and All-Region first team ... went 8-3 on the mound with a 1.29 ERA ... struck out 79 over 65 innings pitched ... also hit .382 with 14 doubles, four triples and five homers while driving in 36 RBI ... was 5-1 as a sophomore and missed his junior season ... also an All-League first team selection and second team All-Region selection as a sophomore.
