Prior to LBSU: Spent two seasons at East Los Angeles College, winning two league championships… teammates of Dirtbag outfielder Carlos Lopez... two-time first team All-South Coast Conference selection batted .331 with six homers, 25 RBI, 40 walks and 14 steals as a sophomore and hit .338 with 27 RBI, 38 walks and 18 steals in 2004… earned the Student-Athlete academic achievement award.

High School: Lettered four years in baseball at Roosevelt High School, earning second team All-CIF honors as a senior and being name the co-MVP of the league… three-time first team all-league pick, was named second team All-City as a sophomore and first team All-City as a junior and senior… batted .537 with six homers in 2005, after batting .548 with seven homers as a junior… batted .389 with two homers as a sophomore and .367 with six homers as a freshman… team won league three times as he was a teammate of former Titan Rickey Romero.
