Scott Lemone returns to the Dirtbags as the team's Volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2011 season.
Lemone previously spent the 2008 season with Long Beach State as an administrative assistant. Since departing Long Beach State after the 2008 season, Lemone spent two seasons as the recruiting coordinator and pitching coach at Cal Poly Pomona. In his second season with the Broncos, Lemone helped to lower the team ERA over a full point, finishing the season with a staff ERA of 4.96.
Lemone assisted with off-field recruiting for the 2008 Long Beach State Dirtbags squad, a team that won the Big West with a 38-21 overall record and earned a No. 1 seed for the NCAA Regionals, hosting the Long Beach Regional in that year. Before joining Long Beach State in 2008, Lemone spent one season with current LBSU assistant coach Jesse Zepeda at Cal Poly, working as the Mustangs Director of Baseball Operations.
Outside of collegiate baseball, Lemone spent one season with the Northwoods League Battle Creek Bombers, serving as the pitching coach, and started his coaching career by spending two years as the pitching coach at De La Salle High School in Concord, Calif. Lemone began his college career by spending two seasons at Boston College before playing one season at Diablo College. He then finished up his career at Chico State, where as a senior Lemone compiled a 5-3 record with a 3.54 ERA and 27 strikeouts.
