Kevin Suarez was hired in 2023 by Bryan Peters to join the Long Beach State coaching staff. Suarez is an experienced offensive coach and developer and will bring those skills to the Dirtbags following two years as a hitting consultant.
Previously, Suarez coached and worked as the recruiting coordinator for his alma mater, Nova Southeastern in Florida, where he spent two seasons working with the offense and outfielders while assisting with all day-to-day coaching.
Suarez was a standout player for the Sharks, setting the program record with 47 stolen bases in two years while hitting .338, helping lead Nova Southeastern to the program’s first Division II National Championship in 2016. A two-time All-Sunshine State Conference selection, Suarez played professionally for one season before turning to coaching.
