2006 (Redshirt):Â Received a medical redshirt after injuring his hamate bone after appearing in five games with two starts, going 2-for-9 with a double and an RBI.
Prior to LBSU:Â Spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons at East Los Angeles College, batting .396 as a sophomore with 12 homers and 48 RBI... batted .362 with 16 homers and 45 RBI as a freshman and was the first person in ELAC history to win the Big Stick Award in 2005... A CCCAA All-American and a two-time All-State performer... Also named first team All-Conference both seasons, earning South Coast Conference MVP honors as a sophomore.
High School:Â Did not compete on the varsity squad at Glendora High School.
Personal:Â Son of Carlos and Carmen Lopez... admitted to Long Beach State in the spring of 2005... majoring in liberal arts.
