Summer League: Played with battery mate Kip Masuda for the Penisula Oilers in the 2006 Alaska Summer League... went 3-3 with a 2.42 ERA over eight starts, giving up 36 hits over 44.2 innings of work... had one complete game as he struck out 30 and walked 15 and had a .222 opponent batting average.
2006 (Freshman): Spot starter as a freshman, appearing in seven games with one start, not appearing in a game until March 7... pitched 12.2 innings on the season, striking out six and walking three... produced a 3.55 ERA and had a .283 opponent batting average... twice went 3.1 innings in back-to-back Tuesday games, pitching 3.1 shutout innings of three-hit baseball against Pepperdine on May 2 to start his collegiate career with a 1.35 ERA, before giving up two runs on four hits over 3.1 innings at LMU a week later.
High School: Four-year varsity letterman in baseball and earned two more letters in basketball at Righetti High School as the team twice reached the CIF Quarterfinals… named the county’s most valuable player in 2004 and the Pac-5 Pitcher of the Year, as well as second team All-CIF honors as a senior… went 9-0 as a senior, leading Righetti to the league title, striking out 81 and producing a 1.56 ERA… pitched 81 innings and had 39 walks… also batted .367 over 30 at-bats… picked up two wins in the playoffs in 2005 and pitched a two-hit shutout in a 2004 playoff game ... Was Drafted in the 45th round by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2005 draft.
