Kailey Yoon 70 Leads Women’s Golf In Final Day From Japan

Yoon climbed to 15th place with a -1 final round at the Pan-Pacific University Golf Super League.

MISHIMA, Japan – Sophomore Kailey Yoon had the lowest round of the tournament for Long Beach State on Friday, closing the Pan-Pacific University Golf Super League with a 70 to climb into 15th place after the final round.

Senior Erin Lee also finished the tournament in the Top 20. Long Beach State's leader through the first two days, Lee had a final round 77 to place in a tie for 19th overall. Kylie Phi, in her first tournament with Long Beach State, matched that score with a final round 77 and was just outside the Top 20, tied for 23rd overall. Senior Alyson Sor had Friday's second-best score from Long Beach State, a +5 76, while Emma Kang had the day's drop score for the Beach.

Long Beach State placed sixth overall in the 12-team field. Hosts Nihon University were the runaway winners, while TCU, St. Andrews, San Jose State and Fukui Tech placed in front of the Beach. LBSU finished in front of five other international teams as well as Florida Gulf Coast.

The Beach will have a short break before returning stateside for their next competition. Long Beach State will return to the Leadership and Golf Invitational at Chambers Bay Golf Course in Washington on September 14-15.
