MISHIMA, Japan – Long Beach State finished the first round of action at the 3rd Pan-Pacific University Golf Super League in Japan tied for fifth place overall, with two rounds still to play on Thursday and Friday.

Senior Erin Lee led the way for Long Beach State, shooting a 34 on the back nine to finish the opening round with an even-par 71, tied for 6th place overall in the field of 12 teams. Newcomer Kylie Phi also had a strong round, ending the day with a 72 overall.

Emma Kang, Alyson Sor, and Kailey Yoon all shot a 76 on the day, as Long Beach State ended the day tied for fifth place overall in the 12-team field. The hosts, Nihon, had a strong first day w4ith the best three rounds of the day and are well in the lead in front of San Jose State, TCU, Fukui Tech, Long Beach State and St. Andrews in the top half of the field.
