Bruce MacDonald Has Big Debut As Individual For Long Beach State

The true freshman is in the Top 5 through 17 holes in the second round at the Vuori Invitational.
RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. – Playing as an individual, Bruce MacDonald had a memorable first day at Long Beach State, hitting a hole-in-one on the Par 3 17th and is under par at -1, tied for fourth place with one hole to play in the second round after the first day at the Vuori Invitational.
Day One Results
Long Beach State was involved as there were only three groups still out on the course as play was halted nearing the conclusion of the second round, with the Beach tied for 9th place.
Joining the team as an individual, MacDonald had a strong day to start his collegiate career. The freshman from Belfast started the day with an even-par 71, and then hit a hole-in-one in on the 17th to help lift him to -1 in the round with one hole to play. MacDonald is tied for fourth place at -1, and is three strokes off of the lead.
Long Beach State's senior veterans each had a good start to the tournament as well. Krishnav Chopraa finished his round, and is tied for 17th overall after a second round 72 to finish Monday at +3 in a tie for 16th. Sharing that spot is Jaden Huggins, who shot a first round 72 before being one of the three team lineup golfers still on the course, also tied at +3.
Junior Norwin Gohm had the team's best score in the first round with an even-par 71, and is tied for 23rd overall after two rounds, while Emil Albers shot a first-round 73 before finishing the day in a tie for 52nd overall. Freshman Hanks Wang had the team's drop score in both rounds.
