Men’s Golf Starts Season Monday At Vuori Invitational

The four-time defending Big West Champs open the season in San Diego.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Men's Golf will take a mix of veteran and new golfers to open the season at the Vuori Invitational, hosted by San Diego at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club. The new year for the Beach begins on Monday, September 14.
The field will feature 12 teams, with Long Beach State battling a number of big-name schools as the team is coming off of a 2025-26 campaign where the team finished the season ranked in the Top 25 nationally. Six teams in the field including Logn Beach State ranked in the Top 50 last season, and the tournament will provide a great early challenge to start the season.
Leading the way in the Long Beach State lineup are two true veterans for Long Beach State, returning First Team All-Big West selections Jaden Huggins and Krishnav Chopraa. Huggins will lead the lineup with over 35 tournaments under his belt with Long Beach State. Chopraa will play second, back for his senior season after a strong 2025-26 campaign after winning the 2025 Big West Championship.
Sophomore transfer Emil Albers will play third. Coming to the Beach from New Mexico, Albers was the winner of the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate last season and has an exciting future ahead, playing in his first tournament with LBSU. Junior Norwin Gohm will play fourth, making his sixth tournament appearance for the Beach which includes a Top 20 finish last season at the ASU Thunderbird Collegiate.
Finally, two freshmen will make their debut for Long Beach State. Hanks Wang, a freshman who played for Servite HS, will make the lineup in the fifth position, while Ireland international Bruce MacDonald will debut as an individual starting on Monday.
