Long Beach State Remains Unbeaten With 2-0 Win At New Mexico State

Cassidy Drago and Kailey Supa score as the Beach record their fourth consecutive shutout to open the season
LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Long Beach State continued their unbeaten start to the 2026 season Sunday night, defeating New Mexico State 2-0 at the NM State Soccer Athletic Complex behind goals from Cassidy Drago and Kailey Supa.
The Beach improved to 3-0-1 overall and completed their first road trip of the season with a pair of victories after defeating Fresno State 5-0 on Thursday. Long Beach State is now 2-0-0 on the road and has outscored opponents 8-0 through the first four matches of the 2026 campaign.
Long Beach State's defense continued their dominant start as the Beach recorded a fourth consecutive shutout. The Beach has yet to concede a goal through 360 minutes this season, while goalkeeper Aurora Schuck has stopped all 11 shots on goal she has faced.
New Mexico State generated the first opportunity of the night in the sixth minute, but Schuck turned away a shot from Zoey Gist. From there, Long Beach State took control.
Ameera White put the Beach's first shot on frame in the 17th minute before Radisson Banks had an attempt blocked moments later. Drago then broke through in the 19', finding the net to give Long Beach State a 1-0 advantage.
The goal was the first of Drago's collegiate career and came just three days after she recorded her first career assist in the 5-0 victory at Fresno State. The sophomore transfer from BYU has now recorded three points over the first four matches of her Long Beach State career. Her goal against the Aggies also marked her first collegiate game-winner.
The Beach continued to apply pressure throughout the opening half. Long Beach State finished the first 45 minutes with a 9-1 advantage in shots, while New Mexico State's lone attempt was stopped by Schuck in the opening ten minutes.
Long Beach State took their 1-0 advantage into halftime after Jordan Candelaria forced a save in the 38th minute and Cherrie Cox and Olivia Yu each added attempts late in the period.
New Mexico State opened the second half with their strongest stretch of the match, generating three shots over the opening seven minutes. Schuck stopped another Gist attempt before the Aggies sent their next two chances off target.
Drago nearly doubled the lead later in the half. She put another shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the New Mexico State goalkeeper made the save to keep the Aggies within one.
The Beach eventually found their insurance goal in the 74th minute.
Banks and White combined to create the opportunity before Supa finished, extending the Long Beach State advantage to 2-0. The goal was Supa's first of the season and sixth of her Long Beach State career.
Banks' assist continued a productive stretch for the senior forward, who has now recorded an assist in three consecutive matches. After setting up Cherrie Cox's game-winner against Colgate and Taylor Bellotti's opening goal at Fresno State, Banks added her third assist of the season against New Mexico State.
White's assist was her first of the season and seventh of her Long Beach State career. She also finished the night with two shots, including one on goal.
