Amber Marshall Joins Long Beach State Women's Soccer Coaching Staff

Former NWSL professional helped Pepperdine win back-to-back WCC championships and make three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Long Beach State Women's Soccer head coach Mauricio Ingrassia has announced the addition of Amber Marshall as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026 season.
Marshall joins The Beach after spending the last three seasons on the coaching staff at Pepperdine, helping the Waves win back-to-back West Coast Conference championships and make three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
"Amber comes to The Beach after making significant contributions at two NCAA Tournament programs in Utah State and Pepperdine," said Ingrassia. "As a former NWSL professional, she brings a wealth of experience, a passion for player development, and a championship mindset that will make an immediate impact on our program. We're excited to welcome Amber to the Beach family and look forward to building on the proud tradition and championship standard of Long Beach State Women's Soccer together."
Marshall arrived at Pepperdine in January 2023 and helped the Waves find immediate success. In her first season, Pepperdine finished as the West Coast Conference runner-up and earned an NCAA Tournament berth. The Waves followed with WCC championships in both 2024 and 2025, while earning three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances during Marshall's tenure in Malibu.
Prior to Pepperdine, Marshall spent two seasons at Utah State, serving as the Aggies' Director of Operations and Player Development from 2021-22 before transitioning into a Volunteer Assistant Coach role. In addition to overseeing team logistics, travel and scheduling, she worked closely with Utah State's defensive unit, helping the Aggies record 10 shutouts while posting a 0.85 goals-against average and a .746 save percentage.
Marshall also brings professional playing experience to Long Beach State after competing with the Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League in 2021. Before beginning her professional career, she enjoyed a standout collegiate career at Utah State, where she was a three-year starter and team captain. A Second Team All-Mountain West selection in 2019, Marshall appeared in 55 career matches while leading the Aggies in minutes played and contributing in both the midfield and back line.
A native of Syracuse, Utah, Marshall earned her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Utah State in 2020 before completing a master's degree in Sports Administration in 2022. Marshall also holds a UEFA B License, further adding to her coaching credentials and player development experience.
