Beach Sends A Pair To Big West Multis Championships In Irvine

Long Beach State sends two athletes to compete in Big West decathlon championships.
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Long Beach State will be represented by two student-athletes this weekend at the Big West Multis Conference Championships, hosted by UC Irvine at Anteater Stadium.

Men's Decathlon • 12 p.m.
The Beach will compete in the men's decathlon Friday and Saturday, May 8-9, with seniors Ryan Gregory and Milo Orona representing Long Beach State in the two-day event.
Gregory returns after a record-breaking performance at last year's Big West Multis, where he finished second in the decathlon with a school-record score of 7,898. Orona also returns after placing third a season ago with a total of 7,369 points.
Competition begins Friday at 12 p.m. with the 100 meters, followed by the long jump, shot put, high jump and 400 meters to close out day one.
The decathlon resumes Saturday at 12 p.m. with the 110-meter hurdles. The remaining events include the discus, pole vault and javelin, before concluding with the 1,500 meters.
