Anderson Earns Baseball America's National Team Of The Week Honors

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Long Beach State right-hander Caleb Anderson earned national recognition this week, being named to the Baseball America's National Team of the Week following a dominant outing against then No. 12 USC Trojans.

Anderson delivered a career-best performance on the mound, striking out nine batters over six scoreless innings while allowing just one hit to lead the Dirtbags to a win over USC at home.

The midweek start marked a change in role for Anderson, who typically anchors Long Beach State's weekend rotation on Fridays. With the Dirtbags navigating a five-game week, Anderson stepped into the Tuesday assignment and responded with one of the top pitching performances of the season.

Anderson becomes the second Dirtbag this year to be named a pitcher to the Baseball America National Team of the Week, joining freshman right-hander Jason Gerfers. Gerfers previously earned the honor after tossing two complete-game victories against Hawai?i and Cal State Bakersfield.

Long Beach State returns to action tonight at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field, hosting Fresno State in a midweek matchup. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m., with the game streaming on ESPN+.
