Long Beach State jumped out to a three-run lead, but Washington State answered with a big fourth inning and went on to claim a 10-4 win Friday night at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field.

LONG BEACH, Calif.-- Washington State erased an early three-run deficit and pulled away late to defeat Long Beach State 10-4 on Friday night at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field.

Long Beach State (3-6) struck first with a three-run third inning. Dylan Lina worked a bases-loaded walk to bring home Conner Stewart for the game's first run. Later in the frame, Trotter Enright delivered a two-run single to right center, scoring Camden Gasser and Smith Chandler to give the Dirtbags a 3-0 advantage.

Washington State responded in the fourth when Noah Thein was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to plate the Cougars' first run before Gavin Roy followed with a two-run single to tie the game at 3-3. Kyler Northrop added a go-ahead RBI groundout later in the inning to put the Cougars in front 4-3.

The Cougars extended their lead in the sixth on a two-run double to right by Trevor Smith, stretching the margin to 6-3. Smith struck again in the eighth with an RBI triple and later scored on a passed ball to make it 8-3.

Long Beach State answered in the bottom of the eighth when Damon Valdez reached on a fielder's choice to score Enright and trim the deficit to four. However, Washington State added two more runs in the ninth on RBI singles from Roy and Smith to seal the 10-4 decision.

Enright paced the Dirtbags offensively with a two-run single and a run scored, while Lina added an RBI and reached base in the third.

The Dirtbags will look to bounce back tomorrow when they host BYU at Bohl Diamond at Blair Field. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m., and the game will stream live on ESPN+.
