Balanced Second Day Sees Women’s Golf Still In Top Five

Long Beach State continues to compete well as the hosts at the Alice and John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic.
PALM DESERT, Calif. – Senior Madison Le had the low round Sunday for Long Beach State with a 72 from Monterey Country Club, as the Beach finished the second round of the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic with three players in the Top 20.
Day Two Results
Emma Kang rallied with a strong finish to the day, making three birdies in her final five holes to close the day with a 73, and lead the team overall in the tournament in a tie for 14th. Her 73 was matched by Alyson Sor, who is once stroke back at +4 for the tournament in a tie for 18th.
That position was shared by Le, whose birdie on one lifted her to a one-over 72 to share a spot in 18th with Sor. Freshman Kailey Yoon had a 75 after shooting under par on Saturday, and is once stroke back of Le and Sor in a tie for 22nd overall at +5. Erin Lee had the day's drop score with a 76.
All four teams in front of Long Beach State in the 16-team field entering Monday are ranked in the Top 50, and three with the exception of tournament leaders are well within striking distance for the Beach entering the final day.
