Long Beach State trails only No. 2 USC after the first day of their home tournament.

PALM DESERT, Calif. – Paced by a pair of one-over par 72s from Emma Kang and Kailey Yoon, Long Beach State is in second place overall after the first day of competition from the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic.

Round One Results

Long Beach State had a consistent day overall, with two rounds of 72 from Kang and Yoon and two cards of 73 by Allison Sor and Erin Lee as the Beach finished the first day. Madison Le was the drop score from the lineup despite also having a competitive round of 74. All five members of the Beach lineup are well within the top half of the 96-golfer field after the first day of action.

No. 2 USC opened up a big lead in the team competition as well as having four golfers in the top five spots of the individual leaderboard. Long Beach State led the remainder of the 16-team field with a +6 290, one stroke in front of Boise State in third and three in front of No. 11 UCLA in fourth place.
