LIHUE, Hawaii – Long Beach State finished the first round two-under par, two strokes behind LMU and one behind Texas A&M, in a tight three-way battle at the top of the leaderboard.
Round One Results
Sophomore Norwin Gohm led the way for Long Beach State in his best round of the year, a two-under par 68, starting the day with a birdie and finishing with just two bogeys. Krishnav Chopraa also shot under par with a one-under 69, his fourth round in the 60s this season. Gohm sits in sixth as an individual, while Chopraa is 14th overall.
Steen Zeman's eagle on Ten brought the graduate out of a slow start to rally for a 70, a score that was matched by Jack Cantlay, playing as an individual. Alejandro de Castro was the team's final counting score with a 71. Jaden Huggins was the drop score with a 73, still finishing the day in the top half of the field.
