ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Long Beach State turned in multiple top-tier performances Friday as the Beach opened the 2026 indoor track and field season at the New Mexico Team Open.
Day One:
Men's & Women Indoor opener was exciting resulting in great performances from the field and on the track.
The long jump crew showed up and out. First-year Steven Evans-Glynn captured the win of the men's long jump in a personal best of 7.48m (24'6 1/2"). His Beach teammates showed depth with a 4th place from Aiden Turner (7.22m), and Quinten Flowers in 7th place (7.00m). Senior KiiKii Brown secured 3rd  in the sandpit with a strong personal best of 5.94m (19'6) moving her to 3rd position in the Beach record list.Â
The throws squad delivered a competitive battle in the weight throw. Senior, Giselle Hrehor debut at 2nd place with a throw of 18.94m (62'1 3/4"). The men competed with confidence. Tyler Knowles also placed 2nd with a spectacular personal best of 19.85m (65'1 1/2") and lands him 8th All-Time. Sophomore, Eman Goodloe was just as impressive, making his debut in that event placing 3rd at 19.05m (62'6").Â
The high jumpers delivered solid effort with Cytres Vives placing 4th and Steven Evans-Glynn finished at number 6.Â
In the sprints, Adren Parker, San Diego native, made his debut in the Men's Seeded 400m, placing 3rd and collegiate personal best time of 47.99 earning him a Top10 spot on the record list. Trey Sheron wore the LB for the first time, clocking a 21.24 to finish 5th in the Men's 200m Invitational and enters him in the record book. Trinity Barnett led the women sprints racing 23.98 in the 200m Invitational Round. Â

The New Mexico Team Open continues Saturday with the first event scheduled for 9:45 a.m. MT as Long Beach State looks to build on a strong opening day.
