Softball Picked To Finish Third In Big West Preseason Coaches Poll

Long Beach State has high expectations in the first season under new head coach Kendall Fearn.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State was picked to finish third in the Big West this coming season, as the conference office announced the results of the Preseason Big West Coaches Poll on Thursday.

The Beach was picked behind 2025 Big West Championship winners UC Santa Barbara and defending regular season champions, Cal State Fullerton, as the two teams split the first place votes from the league.
In a credit to Long Beach State's tradition of success and the reputation of Fearn, the Beach was selected as a clear third despite not having any members on the 11-player preseason All-Big West team.
Long Beach State returns 12 letterwinners from the 2025 program that finished in a tie for second place in the Big West, and will begin their campaign for 2026 at home on Friday, February 6.
