Long Beach State returns as the defending champions of the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf begins the 2025-26 season by taking part in the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational.

Led by head coach Alyssa Waite, now in her fifth season in charge of the program, Long Beach State will start the season in Albuquerque for the second season in a row. Hosted by New Mexico on the UNM Championship Course, Long Beach State were the team champions last season as the only team of 15 to finish the tournament under par, and are aiming for another fast start to the season in 2025-26.

The team will have a new look with a few key returners joined by a number of newcomers this season. Senior Madison Le will be the most experienced member of the team, and returns for her fourth season at the Beach topping the opening competition lineup. An All-Big West selection in 2024, Le played in all 11 tournaments for the Beach last season and has the lowest career stroke average among the team's returners.

Erin Lee is coming off of a breakout season for the Beach and will play second for LBSU in New Mexico. An All-Big West selection last year, Lee was the top finisher for Long Beach State at the Big West Championship, finishing on the podium in a tie for third place, one of two top ten finishes for the junior last year.

The Beach also brought in a pair of Division I transfers, both of whom will feature for the Beach this week. Emma Kang comes to Long Beach State from Idaho after two seasons of earning All-Big Sky honors, while Alyson Sor returns to Long Beach as the former Wilson High School star joins Long Beach State after two seasons at UC Irvine.

Two freshmen are slated to make their debuts for Long Beach State this weekend. Chloe Park will round out the Beach lineup, coming off of a strong high school career at Peninsula High School in Palos Verdes, Calif. A three-time First Team All-Section selection at Canyon Crest Academy, Kailey Yoon will play as an individual at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in her first collegiate competition.

In addition to the hosts and Long Beach State, the 15-team field includes BYU, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Fresno State, Mercer, Montana State, Northern Arizona, Sacramento State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, UNLV, UTEP, and Washington State.

The tournament is scheduled for 36 holes on Monday, September 8 before concluding on Tuesday, September 9. Live scoring throughout can be found at https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/239014/scoring/team.
