LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State's rising sophomores Rita Gurri Capel, Daniela Gonzalez Quinzada, and Brooklyn Plomp were named to their respective national teams to compete at the World Aquatics Women's U20 Water Polo Championship in Salvador, Brazil, this upcoming week.
Gurri Capel and Gonzalez Quinzada will take part in the Spanish national team, which finished second at the 2023 U20 World Championship in Coimbra, Portugal. Spain is in Group A with the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Israel.
Plomp will join Team Canada for another summer of international competition. They will compete alongside South Africa, China, and Australia in Group D. Competition starts on August 10 and will conclude on August 18 with the medal matches.
