The juniors were both selected as individuals to compete at the Gold Canyon Regional in Arizona.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – All-Big West selections Jasmine and Janae Leovao were both at-large individual selections into the NCAA Postseason field, and will compete at the Gold Canyon Regional in Arizona starting on May 5 over three days.
Jasmine Leovao will be making her third appearance in the NCAA Championships in Arizona. As a freshman, Leovao was the individual champion of the Big West, earning an automatic spot, and then last season, again topped the Big West as Long Beach State claimed the Big West Championship, earning a spot into the Cle Elum Regional. While in Washington, Leovao had a Top 10 finish to earn a spot at the NCAA Championships.
This season, Jasmine earned First Team All-Big West honors leading Long Beach State with a win in the team's dual match with San Diego State and finishing in the Top 10 in 8 out of 11 competitions this season for the Beach. With five rounds in the 60s this year including a low of 66, Jasmine will look to be the first Long Beach State player to go to the NCAA Championships in back-to-back seasons.
Janae Leovao will be making her second appearance in the NCAA Regionals, after going with the team in 2024. Also earning All-Big West honors, Janae finished in the Top 5 on two occasions throughout the season, with a high finish of third place at the Leadership and Golf Invitational hosted by Washington this fall. Janae also led the team at the Chevron Silverado Showdown with an 11th place finish, and has nine Top 20 finishes this season.
The low individual not on an advancing team from each regional site will advance to compete in the national championships to be played May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. Jasmine Leovao was that low individual last season at the Cle Elum Regional, becoming just the second women's golfer from Long Beach State to reach the NCAA Championship, joining LBSU Athletics Hall of Fame Kay Hoey, who competed twice in 2005 and 2007.
