Leovao Twins Both Earn At-Large Selection Into NCAA Regionals

Jasmine Leovao is making her third NCAA appearance while Janae Leovao is making her second.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Juniors Jasmine and Janae Leovao were two of the 36 individual golfers selected to join the postseason field as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday, as the twin sisters were two of the six individuals chosen to compete in the Gold Canyon NCAA Regional, hosted by Arizona State at Superstition Mountain Country Club in Arizona.
Each one of six regional sites will comprise of 12 teams and six individuals, with the Long Beach State juniors headed to Arizona to compete in the NCAA Regionals. Jasmine Leovao was a First Team All-Big West selection and Janae Leovao was a Second Team pick after strong junior campaigns.
The tournament will feature three rounds over three days starting on May 5. The field is headlined by top seed Oregon, and will also include Arizona State, Auburn, Mississippi State, California, Virginia Tech, San Jose State, Sacramento State, Cal State Fullerton, Navy, and Quinnipiac. Vivian Lu of Washington, Jensen Jalufka of Cal Poly, Daniela Campillo of ULM and Maddie Montoya of Montana State were the other individuals.
The low individual not on an advancing team from each regional site will advance to compete in the NCAA Championship, played May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. Jasmine Leovao was the advancing individual from the Cle Elum Regional last season were Long Beach State competed as a team, becoming just the second women's golfer to compete at the NCAA Championship, joining Kay Hoey.
2025 marks the first time that multiple individuals have been selected from Long Beach State. Prior individuals to compete for the Beach in the NCAA postseason include Hoey, Kassidy Teare, and Holland Shourds.
