Janae Levao, Erin Lee Remain In Individual Contention at Big West Championship

As a team, Long Beach State climbed into second place after the second of three rounds.
LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Long Beach State's duo of Janae Leovao and Erin Lee sit second and third respectively after the first two rounds of the Big West Championship with 18 holes remaining from Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas.
Day Two Results
Tied for fifth after the first round, junior Janae Leovao had four birdies without a bogey on the back nine Monday to score a 69, dropping to 3-under par for the tournament and climbing into second place overall, one stroke behind Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith.
Sophomore Erin Lee was also in fifth to start the day and moved up, saving the best round of her collegiate career for a great time, a two-under par 70 to also hold a podium spot for Long Beach State entering the final day.
Junior Jasmine Leovao, the two-time defending individual medalist, shot a 72 on Monday, moving up eight spots into a tie for 11th place, just outside of the Top 10. Sophomore Madison Le finished the round with a 75 to finish off the scoring for the Beach on the day, while substitute Kristina Ponomareva had the team's drop score.
As a team, Long Beach State was 2-under par at 286, climbing up one spot to take over second place. The Beach are 10 strokes behind Cal State Fullerton and five strokes in front of UC Irvine in the team competition entering the final day.
