LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Long Beach State Women's Golf had co-leaders after the first day of the Big West Championship, as Janae Leovao and Erin Lee each finished the opening round with a score of 72, well within striking distance of the lead in a tie for fifth place after 18 holes from Spanish Trail County Club in Las Vegas.
Day One Results
Sophomore Erin Lee, playing in her first Big West Championship, had a strong first round, closing the day with a birdie on 18 to finish with an even-par 72, while Janae Leovao also shot a 72, matching four bogeys with four birdies as the pair each shared a spot in the top five, just two strokes out of the lead held by Davina Xanh of Cal State Fullerton.
Cal State Fullerton held the team lead after the first round, as the lead group held the top three spots on the day as UC Davis was in second and Long Beach State in third after the first of three rounds.
Jasmine Leovao closed the day in the Top 20, tied for 19th overall with a 76, while Madison Le placed fourth for the Beach with a 78 on Sunday. Hannah Jugar had the drop score for the Beach on the first day.
The second round will be held tomorrow morning, with live scoring provided through SCOREBOARD at https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/234273/scoring/team.
