The 2024 champions, Long Beach State looks to defend their title and return to the NCAA postseason.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf brings the regular season to a close and will now defend their 2024 Big West title at the 2025 Big West Championships, hosted at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas.

Junior Jasmine Leovao has been in the Individual Medalist in each of her prior two seasons, winning the tournament as a true freshman before repeating as a sophomore becoming just the sixth repeat winner in championship history. Leading the way for her teammates, Long Beach State dominated the championship as a team in 2024, going wire-to-wire and winning the tournament by 23 strokes, the largest margin of victory since 2015.

Jasmine Leovao has led Long Beach State in seven of the team's ten competitions this year, and will lead the lineup as the team takes on the other eight schools in the conference. The Big West Golfer of the Month for March after a Top 15 finish at the Yale Invitational West and a Top 10 finish at the Silicon Valley Showcase, Jasmine leads Long Beach State with a 71.8 stroke average this season and has finished in the Top 20 in nine out of ten tournaments this season for Long Beach State.

Janae Leovao has led Long Beach State in the three other competitions this season, including the last time out for the Beach at the Chevron Silverado Showdown, where the junior tied for 11th place with an even par finish after closing the tournament with rounds of 70 and 71. Janae's top finish this season came at the Leadership and Golf Invitational in the fall, where she finished in third place overall at 6-under par, and Janae has eight Top 20 finishes overall this season.

Sophomore Erin Lee has had a breakthrough year. Improving her stroke average to 76.2, third on the team this season, Lee matched her best round of the year with a 71 on the way to a tie for 27th at the Silicon Valley Showcase recently, and boasts three rounds of par or better so far this season.

Junior Madison Le finished in the Top 10 at the Big West Championship last season, and joins the Leovao twins as the only other golfer for the Beach to compete in every tournament this season. Le's best finish came in a tie for 27th at the Silicon Valley Showcase to close out March, and the junior will be looking for another Top 10 finish, one that would be the eighth of her career.

Graduate transfer Hannah Jugar will round out the lineup. A veteran of important matches, Jugar was the Division III National Runner-Up at the University of the Redlands before coming to the Beach, and is coming off of her best round of the fall to close out the Chevron Silverado Showdown.

The Big West Championship should feature great action, with five of the nine teams ranked in the Top 100 nationally, led by UC Davis at No. 57 followed by Long Beach State at No. 69. UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly are also all in the Top 100 and will be battling to claim the automatic team spot into the upcoming NCAA Regionals.
