No. 8 Beach Volleyball To Host First Home Matches Of 2025 Season

The Beach will host their first home matches of the season this weekend.
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Long Beach State will play host to four teams for an action-packed Saturday as the Beach plays four matches and hosts two others.
No. 8 Long Beach State will face Mercer at 9 a.m., Southern Miss at 10 a.m., No. 2 LMU at 1 p.m., and Vanguard at 2 p.m. Matches will be played at the Long Beach City College sand courts.
The team finished the Battle for LA with a win and three losses. The losses were hard fought battles against No. 1 UCLA and No. 3 USC, the two top teams. They couldn't avoid the sweep from top ranked UCLA but Savannah Standage and Natalie Glenn were able to beat their USC opponents after three close sets. In the third set, the pair pulled away and secured a dual point against the Trojans. The pair also had a great performance against No. 16 Washington, staying in control of the game during both sets. The Beach secured a 4-1 victory in Los Angeles, setting the tone before they travel to Washington in April.
