Men’s Golf In Second As Play Halted During Second Round Of Wyoming Cowboy Classic

Teams will resume play at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow to finish the second and final rounds from Arizona.
MARICOPA, Ariz. – Play was halted with around four holes remaining in the second round as Long Beach State and Iowa State were locked in a battle at the top of the leaderboard following the first day of competition from the Wyoming Cowboy Classic.
Day One Results
Played at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club from Arizona, Iowa State and Long Beach State topped the leaderboard with all 23 teams still on the course on Monday, coming just short of finishing 36 holes.
The Beach were two strokes behind the Cyclones as the horn was sounded, led by Charlie Forster and Alejandro de Castro Piera who were both in the midst of big days, second and third overall throughout the day. De Castro Piera had eight birdies on the way to a 65 in the first round, and ended Tuesday 8-under par while Forster was 10-under at the conclusion of play with three holes to go in the second round after a 67 over the first 18.
Senior Steen Zeman shot a 1-under par 71 in the opening round and was one-under through 14. Jack Cantlay was also under par during the second round after a first round 74, while Krishnav Chopraa's even par 72 was a scoring round for the Beach during the day's first 18 holes.
