Men’s Golf Continues Road Trip With Wyoming Cowboy Classic

The Beach will go straight to Maricopa, Arizona from The Goodwin.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State will play in their final tournament before taking on the Big West Championship, traveling straight from Stanford to participate in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, held at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz.
The Wyoming Cowboy Classic features another large field, with 23 teams competing including three other Big West schools as the Beach plays in its final tournament before taking part in the Big West Championship.
Fresh off of an 11th place finish at The Goodwin at Stanford, the Beach will travel from Northern California and then get back to work from Arizona with two rounds of play on Monday, March 31 followed by a final round on April 1.
The lineup will remain the same for Long Beach State. Charlie Forster has been the team's top golfer this season and will lead the lineup, ranked No. 47 in the country with a stroke average this season of 70.7. Alejando de Castro Piera and Jack Cantlay shared the team lead at The Goodwin, playing second and third respectively, while the lineup will be rounded out by sophomore Krishnav Chopraa and senior Steen Zeman. Senior Clay Seeber remains in South Africa, playing in the Sunshine Tour Q-School in Johannesburg and will miss the Wyoming Cowboy Classic as well.
Other Big West teams participating at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic include CSUN, Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine, while the rest of the field contains Air Force, Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Grand Canyon, Gonzaga Iowa State, Kansas, Northern Colorado, Pacific, Saint Mary's, San Diego, USC, UT Arlington, Utah State, Weber State, Wichita State and the hosts, Wyoming.
