
Men’s Golf Finish With Field’s Best Score Again As The Beach Lead The Lake Las Vegas Invitational

Senior Charlie Forster remains in first place as Long Beach State has four golfers in the Top 5 at Reflection Bay Golf Club.
HENDERSON, Nev. – All six golfers competing at Reflection Bay Golf Club for Long Beach State finished under par on Tuesday, as Long Beach State and senior Charlie Forster continued to lead at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational after the second of three rounds. Long Beach State's -25 score vs. par is the best 36-hole score in program history.
"All the boys are locked in and contributing to a balanced attack," said head coach Rob Murray. "We are in a good spot but with some stronger winds in the forecast tomorrow we will need to remain disciplined with our strategy."
Day Two Leaderboard
Charlie Forster, one day after a career-low 64 had another outstanding round, finishing 4-under par with just one bogey on the day to increase his lead at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational after two rounds, as the senior is -12 with 18 holes remaining.
In second place is another senior and another Long Beach State golfer, Clay Seeber. Seeber also shot a four-under 68 Tuesday to climb eight spots on the leaderboard to a tie second place. That is just one stroke in front of Alejandro de Castro Piera, who shot a three-under 69 to end the day 5-under for the tournament in a tie for fourth place.
Sophomore Krishnav Chopraa rode the momentum from an eagle on the Par 5 12th hole to a 69 as well, climbing 26 places to 30th overall at +1 as the team's fourth scorer. Highlighting how strong the day was for Long Beach State, junior Jack Cantlay's one-under par 71 was the team's drop score on Tuesday, and Cantlay ended the day tied for 24th overall.
In total, Long Beach State's -14 day was the best second round vs. par in program history, and tied for the third best score overall at 274. The 274 is tied for the seventh best single round at the Beach.
Senior Steen Zeman, playing as an individual, also impressed on Tuesday, firing a two-under par 70 to remain in the Top 5, tied for fourth place with de Castro Piera at -5 for the tournament.
