
Jasmine Leovao Tied For Eighth As Alice And John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic Comes To A Close

Long Beach State as a team also tied for eighth place in the 21-team field.
PALM DESERT, Calif. – Jasmine Leovao closed out a Top 10 finish after three days at the Monterey Country Club, highlighting the Long Beach State effort in their home tournament, the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic.
In the 12th iteration of the home tournament for Long Beach State Women's Golf, held annually since 2011 with the exception of COVID and a rainout, Oregon was the runaway winner as a team behind individual medalist Suvichaya Vinijchaitham and Top 5 finishes from Kiara Romeo and Karen Tsuru.
Tournament Results
Junior Jasmine Leovao shot an even-par 71 to close out the tournament in her third round, finishing the tournament 2-under par overall with a 211, in a tie for 8th place. Junior Janae Levoao closed the tournament with a 72 and finished in a tie for 14th place overall, her fifth Top 20 finish of the season so far. Erin Le and Madison Le shared a tournament score of 227, both in the top half of the 120-golfer field.
As a team, Long Beach State finished the tournament with a score of 880, sharing eighth place with New Mexico State and California Baptist. Five of the seven schools that finished in front of the Beach are ranked in the Top 50.
Spring transfer Isabelle Olivas-Lowell led the trio of individuals including Kristina Ponomareva and Andee Avery for Long Beach State, finishing in a tie for 76th overall after a final day 78.
Long Beach State will be back in action next Monday, taking part in the Bruin Wave Invitational co-hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine and held at the Valencia Country Club.
