Long Beach State and the Aztecs will send their full rosters for one round in Rancho Santa Fe.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf starts their spring season on Monday, February 3 with a single round in a dual match format against a familiar foe in San Diego State.
The Beach and the Aztecs will tee off beginning at 9 a.m. from The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. Paired off in ordered twosomes, the round kicks off the spring championship season for both teams.
Leading the lineup is two-time defending Big West Champion, Jasmine Leovao. Leovao didn't finish outside of the Top 20 in four tournaments in the fall for Long Beach State, and was the team's stroke average leader over those four tournaments, including a runner-up finish in New Mexico.
Playing second is Janae Leovao. Janae finished in third place at the Leadership and Golf Invitational hosted by Washington in the fall, and had two other Top 20 finishes for the Beach. Playing third is sophomore Erin Lee, who played in three tournaments in the fall, followed by graduate transfer Hannah Jugar playing fourth who played in two tournaments in the fall semester for Long Beach State.
Madison Le will round out the competition lineup for the Beach in the fifth spot, as the junior looks to jump to another level after six Top 10 finishes in her career so far.
All eight of Long Beach State's golfers will be in action on Monday. Sophomore Andee Avery will play in the first individual spot, while Isabelle Olivas-Lowell will make her Division I debut as an individual as well. Olivas-Lowell was the CCCAA Individual Champion last season, and will look to make an immediate impact as an incoming transfer for the spring. Senior Kristina Ponomareva rounds out the squad for the San Diego State dual match as a third individual.
The Beach is then proud to host the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic to begin the Spring Tournament season. Running three days from February 15-17 at Monterey Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., Long Beach State's home tournament is in its 12th year in 2025.
