Women’s Golf Picks Up A Spot On Final Day Of Bruin Wave Invitational

Long Beach State tied for the third-best team round of the day in the 14-team field.

VALENCIA, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf was one of five teams to shoot under 300 in the final round of the Bruin Wave Invitational, climbing into 9th place overall on the second day at Valencia Country Club.

Final Results

Junior Emma Kang had the low score from Long Beach State for the second round in a row, shooting an even-par 72 with a trio of birdies, climbing 16 sports on the leaderboard into a tie for 26th at +10. She ended two strokes in front of junior Erin Lee, whose final-day 74 placed her in 30th place overall.

Senior Madison Le had her best round of the tournament with a 75 to finish in a tie for 35th at +14, while Alyson Sor had the final counting score of the day for Long Beach State, shooting a 75. Freshman Kailey Yoon shot 76 for the second round in a row, and finished in a tie for 50th in the 79 golfer field.

Stanford were the team champions, finishing in front of co-hosts Pepperdine and UCLA.

Long Beach State will have a brief break, before taking part in the GameAbove Invitational co-hosted by USC and Eastern Michigan down the road at Rolling Hills Country Club on March 9-10.
