Tennis Closes Fall Schedule With Two Events

Pamela Badillo is representing the Big West in San Diego, while the rest of the team will compete at CSUN.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Tennis will compete in two events to close the fall tournament season. Pamela Badillo, as the winner of the Big West Fall Tournament will represent the conference in singles at the ITA Conference Masters Championships, while the rest of the team will take part in the CSUN Fall Tournament in Northridge.
Badillo defeated Makeilah Nepomuceno of Hawai'i in three sets on October 5 to earn the right to represent the Big West at the ITA Conference Masters Championships. Badillo is one of 30 who have earned the opportunity to compete in the tournament which features one player per conference in Women's Singles.
Badillo will open the tournament in the Round of 32 at 9 a.m., Marina Skegro from Charleston Southern of the Big South. With a win, the sophomore would then advance to face the winner of fourth seed Zoie Epps of Louisiana Tech of Patrycja Niewiadomska of Northern Arizona in the Round of 16 Thursday afternoon. All matches will be held at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, the site of the Big West Championships.
The rest of the team will travel to Northridge to compete in the CSUN Fall Tournament. Matches in both singles and doubles will be held over three days beginning on Friday, November 7. Draws will be found through the ITA tournament website once they are available.
