
Strong Start For Women’s Golf At Golf Iconic Classic Has Long Beach State In Third

Long Beach State had three players under par in the first day of action from Las Cruces.
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Long Beach State had three players finish under par in the first of three days at the Golf Iconic Classic hosted by New Mexico State, as Women's Golf ended the first day in third place in the 19-team field.
Day One Results
Freshman Chloe Park had the best round of her young career, finishing the day with five birdies as one of three players from Long Beach State to shoot two-under par 70s on the first day of competition at the Golf Iconic Classic.
Junior Erin Lee also finished with a 70, as did junior Alyson Sor who also had her best round of time at Long Beach State with a 70, only making one bogey on the day. Freshman Kailey Yoon was the other scoring member for the Beach. Pushed into action later in the week, Yoon responded with her best round of her career with a 73 to start the tournament for Long Beach State, with three birdies on the front nine. Emma Kang had the team's drop core on Monday.
Boise State leads the team competition, but the Beach is in a close battle at the top of the leaderboard, one stroke behind San Diego State in second place following one round with a -5 283 as a team.
